Great news!
Following yesterday’s blog, the Langholm Moor Working Group has managed to raise its target of £5,000 to enable a feasibility study to take place which will inform a potential community buy-out of Langholm Moor, to turn it from a knackered grouse moor into a nature reserve for the benefit of everyone.
We’ll be following the progression of the Langholm Moor Working Group with great interest.
Many thanks and well done to all the blog readers who donated so generously to the group’s fundraising appeal!
From so far 230 donors. I have little doubt that RPUK made the difference there. Well done for letting people know.
Ditto. Let’s hope this sort of thing becomes the norm.
A brilliant idea, let’s hope the study proves a success. A becomes a model for the reclaiming of moorland for the people. All land is a habit for wildlife, you have to remove the interference or the human being and that of the gamekeeper.
