An injured buzzard was found by a member of the public at Blanchland near Hexham, Northumberland at the weekend.
It had been shot.
The bird was taken to a wildlife sanctuary at Ladyhill Farm, Simonburn, Hexham where it later died of its injuries.

There’s quite a bit of grouse shooting at Blanchland. Could there be a connection between the illegal shootings of this Buzzard and Tawny Owl, and the gameshooting activities in this area?
