Today we’re celebrating this blog’s third birthday! A massive big thank you to everyone who has contributed, whether publicly or from behind the scenes.

2. New e-petition: licensing of upland grouse moors and gamekeepers.

3. RSPB response to DEFRA’s proposed (illegal) buzzard trial.

4. The curious incident of the eagle in the night time.

5. Update on the curious incident of the eagle in the night time.

The most important thing you can do this year is to sign and share this e-petition about the licensing of grouse moors and gamekeepers (here).

  1. May I be the first to offer sincere congratulations on a brilliant job, exceedingly well done and, above all, RPS providing the voice and facility wherein the opinions and hopes of very many of us rest. A quick look at the site will soon show there is little, if anything, which has escaped scrutiny if, by action or content, it’s been seen to be wanting.

In a personal context may I also, again, pass on my thanks to RPS for the support shown for the E-petition in the last few days.

We will get there, I’m sure, and I suspect RPS will have had a major role to play in bringing about better practice , less persecution of raptors and a fairer environment all round than exists at present.

    Thanks guys .

    [Ed: Cheers John]

  2. Happy 3rd birthday RPS. I am so pleased that I found you, as we now have a focal point to make public all the iligal and bad practice, that blights Scotland and Britain’s uplands. Well done to all involved.

    [Ed: Cheers Chris]

  3. 3 Years already, excellent work guys, keep it up and who knows, one day we’ll see an end to the mindless Raptor persecution.

    [Ed: thanks Nirofo]

  4. Many congrats…a welcome change from your beginnings when I was slightly worried about being the only commenter!..Lets hope the increase in readership reflects a genuine growth in public concern and more importantly, public participation. One thing is very certain – without you, the real knowledge over the criminal activity going on on the shooting estates and upland areas of our country would be all but impossible to find – certain bodies, particularly those affiliated to government should hang their heads in shame.

[Ed: Cheers Dave, for the long-term support]

  5. Great to know you are achieving so much, thank you for all you do and make known to the public. Congratulations on 3 years and many more to come until the scum who commit the atrocities are wiped out

    [Ed: thanks Jane]

  6. Yes, congratulations on three excellent years of highlighting the widespread criminal practices being carried out by the “guardians of the countryside”. Keep up the good work.

[Ed: Cheers Marco. You win the prize for most frequent commentator by the way!]

  7. And you can bet there are a few organisations distinctly less than thrilled with your success – which can only be a good thing…………….

  8. Well done guys 3 years of good work. Hope you go from strength to strength. I’m raising a glass to your continued success. Slainte.

    [Ed: Slainte Stewart]

  9. Congratulations!! Thank you RPS for your valuable contribution over the past three years. You are helping to make a difference and those birds need all the help they can get as we all well know. Well done.

[Ed: cheers Steve, and thank YOU for your tireless work in this field]

  10. Happy birthday. Thanks for all your hard work in providing a focus for those of us who feel that raptor persecution has gone on for far too long. I look forward to the day when there is no longer a need for the Raptor Persection Scotland Blog – until then keep up the good work.

    [Cheers Alister]

  11. Thank you lads for telling it as it is…Great work for us all and hopefully the general public will get more switched onto RPS before your next Birthday.

    [Cheers Bill]

    1. A great three years keep up the good work, so much better than the one English site purporting to do a similar job.

[Ed: keep up the great work with NERF, Paul!]

  12. Happy Birthday guys, there’s a couple of pints behind the bar for you in my local, if they’re still there next weekend I’ll give them a good home ;-) seriously though I never thought I’d see an end game start to come to fruition in my life time, you have provided hope. with advances in satellite technology, miniture camera’s and surveillance equipment things will get better. For all the long hours and the massive effort you’ve put in, a big thank you but please keep it up. Happy birthday!

[Cheers Merlin, we’ll be in for those pints one day!]
