North Yorkshire Police are appealing on Twitter for information about a shot buzzard that was found by a member of the public on Tuesday 26 March 2019 near Whashton.
There doesn’t appear to be any further detail available.

There are pretty much only two kinds of people who have shotguns (it doesn’t look like an air rifle pellets both being so close together) gamekeepers and game shooters. But apparently it’s not them doing this. That has me stumped. Sorry, stupid me, no it’s us, setting them them up again.

North Yorkshire again and again and again when will it end, these arse holes are pushing it to the limit, someone needs to get a grip and stand up to the shooting fraternity in Yorkshire, they are giving the county a bad name. The pass time as to end because they continue to break the law, if we all chose to do that where would we be, the law should also apply to the rich not just the poor
Sickening. Most likely just the tip of the iceberg of what is going on in that god-forsaken county. I hope the bastard gets caught but I won’t hold my breath.
Driven grouse shooting should be banned but all other forms of shooting need to be licensed. Can’t understand why the RSPB is focused solely on the licensing of grouse moors.
Of course crimes like this are more easily detected than on grouse moors because they are less remote but they seem to be incredibly frequent, especially in Yorkshire and especially against Buzzards.
I strongly suspect Anand that buzzards die illegally every day somewhere in the UK. Thoroughly annoyed that yet again that the reputation of the county in which I was nurtured and lived much of my life is again dragged through the mire by gun toting morons.
RSPB are focusing on DGS because licensing of this might just be achievable but licensing all forms of shooting just isn’t (at present anyway). The reality is that we have to make gains incrementally, which I’m sure that we will if we all keep up the pressure.
Buzzard found on 26 March and the public alert is out already. Very good ! ……… that is light years ahead of what usually happens. I wonder if some people have had their tails twisted.
I noticed that on Twitter everyone’s favourite failed wildlife crime PC -turned shooting rep is questioning North Yorkshire police’s competence and has offered, on behalf of his organisation, to pay for a post mortem. He reckons this is ingested shot or a set up.
