An anonymous donor, so concerned about the reported mass poisoning of 12 red kites and 4 buzzards in Ross-shire, has come forward and increased the value of the reward for information to £10,000.
He/she has added an extra £5K to the £5K reward already put up by RSPB Scotland.
The reward is offered to anyone who provides information leading to a successful conviction.
£10,000 is a lot of money. Let’s hope it will prompt someone to go and talk to the police. If you’re that person, dial 101 and ask to be put through to Dingwall Police Station.
The photo shows dead red kite ‘F8’, one of the 16 victims (and there may yet be more corpses to be recovered).

Raptor Persecution UK 
Would that be ten grand for the prosecution of xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx? Or ten grand to get his employer xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx too, under the vicarious liability thing?
If the fact that the poisoner has knowingly put the lives of the local human population at risk doesn’t make anybody consider informing on that/those criminal/s then let us hope that this pretty substantial reward will have some effect.
Could a website be setup where other individuals can contribute to the reward already offered by the RSPB? I am sure if such a thing existed a lot of people would contribute, and the larger the reward offered the greater the incentive for one of the locals (who surely know who it is) to shop the criminal, as well as showing that the law abiding folks are sick of seeing our raptors being poisoned.

Yes I also hope that someone has the information so as they can claim the reward. Of course, decent law abiding citizens shouldn’t need an incentive to do the right and honourable thing. I would gladly shop the scum for free, if only I knew who the despicable excuses for a human were.
I notice that Paul Wheelhouse has the time to add support to the SGA’s play-school Lapwing survey (use the pink map boys) but as far as I can see he has not said anything about the massacre? Where are SNH, don’t they care that all these years of work have been undone?
The RSPB have done a great job of keeping the story live, but where are the other PAWS partnership people?
Yes, come on Paul Wheelhouse and your SNP government, when are you going to say and do something about this wildlife crime disaster, or don’t you even care!
They are obviously too busy appeasing the SGA and their gamekeepers again.
I’m sorry but putting this 10k towards information to secure a conviction is nothing more than a publicity stunt. Yes this is a shocking thing that’s happened and hopefully the exact details of this incident will come to light very soon. I fully after that the perpetrator should be brought to justice but who is able to give enough evidence to secure a conviction even if they know who did it! Even if someone has recorded an individual laying out baits and the birds eating them this might still be deemed as imadmissable evidence. Sorry to rain on anyone’s parade but this reward will never need to be payed out.
On a different note has secondary poisoning as has been seen on the Black Isle before been ruled out?
Grouseman – there have been a lot of rumours from certain quarters that this massacre is the result of accidental secondary poisoning, or some sort of accidental environmental contamination.
Let’s just put those to bed here and now – this was a deliberate poisoning with banned poisons. We’re not prepared to say any more at this stage.
I understand just thought I would ask the question. The fact that the RSPB are now exploiting the situation to make them money as they are fully aware this reward will never be claimed!!
