Three peregrines have been found shot in South Tipperary, Ireland over the last few weeks.
The first, a breeding female, was found shot dead under her church ruin nest site in mid-June.
The second, an adult male, was found injured a few days later near to another nest site close by. This bird is being treated at a rehabilitation centre but it is feared it will not recover well enough to be released.
The third, a breeding male, was found shot dead in July at the nest site where the adult female had been shot dead.

Shocking and outrageous…
So sad and so useless, make me so angry….
WHY?
Why would anyone in their right mind do something like this. This is so sad, selfish, cowardly and I am greatly saddened by the inhumane treatment towards such beautiful, majestic birds. I am just shocked.
Shocking. I’m reading about this quite a lot. Why would somebody do this, and what is being done to catch them?
Gail, trawl through all the posts in this forum and you will find the answer to your question. There are people within the shooting fraternity who:-
1. are living in the dark ages
2. think that they are above the law
3. don’t seem to realise that they are simply common criminals in the same group as housebreakers, drug dealers, muggers and no better than the rest of the vermin who commit crime.
