The RSPB is recruiting for a new Project Manager to run its Hen Harrier LIFE Project for the final two years of its duration.

Whoever gets this job will have some pretty big shoes to fill. Blanaid Denman has steered this award-winning project with passion, drive and outstanding professionalism. And apart from anything else, she’s an absolute star. The RSPB has been lucky to have her, and they’re even luckier to be keeping hold of her as she moves to a more senior role as Area Manager for the Northeast and Cumbria.

Yes winning that award was an outstanding achievement very well done indeed! What I remember at the time was one of the head honchos at the GWCT, BASC or CA etc making a caustic remark that with all the money it has the RSPB should not have got lottery funding for the Skydancer project. Typical of them to run down genuine conservation and conservationists, frontline staff have to put up with a lot of nastiness from the other lot so it’s brilliant seeing one of them getting the proper acknowledgement they deserve.
